Präsentation des Human Development Reports 2015 in Wien

Arbeit hilft Menschen der Armutsspirale zu entkommen, Fähigkeiten zu entwickeln und kann eine sinnstiftende Wirkung haben. Kurz gesagt – es scheint unumstritten, dass Arbeit ein wichtiges Fundament für menschliche Entwicklung ist. Aber die Arbeitswelt befindet sich im Wandel – nicht zuletzt aufgrund struktureller Veränderungen, wie Globalisierung und neue Technologien, die große Auswirkungen auf die Arbeitswelt haben. Davon ausgehend behandelt der neue Human Development Report 2015 das Thema „Arbeit für menschliche Entwicklung“ schwerpunktmäßig und zeigt die komplexen Zusammenhänge zwischen Arbeit und Entwicklung auf. Es wird ein breites Themenspektrum abgedeckt, das von der Verantwortung von Arbeitgebern für menschenwürdige Arbeitsbedingungen über Ausbeutung durch Kinderarbeit oder Menschenhandel bis hin zu Arbeit im Kontext von Migration oder Gendergerechtigkeit in der Arbeitswelt reicht. C3 Radio sprach mit UNDP-Repräsentant Selim Jahan über seine Perspektive auf Arbeit im Kontext nachhaltiger Entwicklung und erörterte mit Johannes Trimmel (CONCORD) und Petra Dannecker (Institut für Internationale Entwicklung, Universität Wien) die Bedeutung dieses Themas für die Umsetzung der Neuen Globalen Entwicklungsziele, die Ende 2015 von der UNO beschlossen wurden.
