Im Kontext der Fluchtbewegungen der Jahre 1933-1945 fanden illegale Grenzübertritte wesentlich häufiger statt als allgemein bekannt. Sie erwiesen sich vielfach als lebensrettend ... Heute ist das Thema angesichts der immer rigoroseren Abwehrmaßnahmen, mit denen die »Festung Europa« gesichert werden soll, brisanter denn je. Der Band befasst sich mit den unterschiedlichen Formen, Phasen und Motiven der organisierten und individuellen Fluchthilfe oder "Schlepperei" seit den 1930er Jahren und rückt auch die restriktive Aufnahmepolitik der potentiellen Zufluchtsländer als wesentliche Ursache für das Phänomen ins Blickfeld. C3 Radio hat mit Gabriele Anderl und Simon Usaty, den HerausgeberInnen des Buches "Schleppen, Schleusen, Helfen" (Mandelbaum Verlag) gesprochen und war bei der Buchpräsentation dabei.
